With the continuous advancement of global scientific and technological cooperation and the increasing demand for high-quality laboratory services in emerging markets, the company has accelerated its layout in Africa, focusing on supporting the development of scientific research and industrial testing in African countries. Recently, a professional team from Lab Revive Services officially participated in the Enval Laboratory instrument project in Côte d'Ivoire, providing comprehensive technical support, instrument refurbishment, installation and commissioning services for the project, which not only helped Enval Laboratory upgrade its detection capabilities but also laid a solid foundation for the development of scientific research and industrial upgrading in Côte d'Ivoire, setting a benchmark for international cooperation in the field of laboratory services in West Africa.
Côte d'Ivoire, as an important economic engine in West Africa, has been vigorously promoting the strategy of industrial diversification and sustainable development in recent years, focusing on key fields such as agricultural processing, environmental protection and mineral development, which has led to an increasing demand for professional scientific research equipment, accurate detection services and standardized laboratory operation and maintenance. Enval Laboratory (ENVAL Laboratoire), located in Côte d'Ivoire, is one of the most influential physical and chemical as well as microbial analysis laboratories in West Africa. Founded in 2012, the laboratory is mainly engaged in physical and chemical analysis and microbial testing, and has expanded to fields such as petroleum, soil, plant, noise and air quality testing in recent years. It is also preparing for the construction of a mineral analysis laboratory, providing comprehensive testing services for enterprises and scientific research institutions in Côte d'Ivoire and surrounding areas. The accuracy and reliability of its testing data directly support local industrial upgrading and scientific research innovation, making it a key platform for Côte d'Ivoire to promote the in-depth integration of scientific research and industry.
With the continuous expansion of its business scope, Enval Laboratory is facing many challenges in the operation of its instruments. The laboratory is equipped with a number of high-end precision instruments from well-known brands such as Agilent and AB Sciex, including gas chromatographs, liquid chromatographs, mass spectrometers and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers (ICP-OES), which are the core equipment for carrying out various detection tasks. Due to long-term high-load operation, challenges in environmental adaptability and lack of professional maintenance, these instruments have experienced various degrees of failures, such as failure to start normally, decreased sensitivity, abnormal signals, pre-column leakage and inaccurate flow rate, which have seriously affected the progress of the laboratory's detection work and restricted the expansion of its business scope. In addition, the laboratory is preparing to build a mineral analysis laboratory, which urgently needs professional teams to provide instrument selection, refurbishment, installation and commissioning services to ensure the smooth launch of the new laboratorysuperscript:2>.
After multiple rounds of strict screening and evaluation, Enval Laboratory finally chose to cooperate with Lab Revive Services. As a global leader in the field of laboratory instrument full-life-cycle services, Lab Revive Services has rich experience in instrument refurbishment, technical support and laboratory project operation, and has a professional team of engineers familiar with various high-end precision instruments. The company's strict quality control system and perfect after-sales service system have won wide recognition in the global market. What's more, Lab Revive Services has in-depth experience in cross-border laboratory projects, is familiar with the relevant regulations and technical standards of African countries, and can provide customized solutions according to the actual needs of Enval Laboratory, which has become the core reason for Enval Laboratory to choose to cooperate with it.
In response to the actual needs and challenges of the Enval Laboratory project, Lab Revive Services set up a special project team, which was composed of 8 senior engineers with more than 10 years of experience in instrument refurbishment, installation and commissioning. Before going to Côte d'Ivoire, the team conducted in-depth research on the types, models, service life and existing faults of the instruments in Enval Laboratory, and formulated a detailed and rigorous project implementation plan, covering instrument inspection and diagnosis, professional refurbishment, on-site installation and commissioning, technical training and after-sales support, to ensure the efficient and smooth progress of the project. At the same time, the team prepared a large number of professional tools, maintenance accessories and calibration equipment, including original-level spare parts suitable for Agilent and AB Sciex instruments, to avoid delays in the project progress due to lack of accessoriessuperscript:2>.
After arriving in Côte d'Ivoire, the Lab Revive Services team immediately stationed in Enval Laboratory and carried out comprehensive inspection and diagnosis of all instruments. The team adopted professional detection equipment and methods to conduct in-depth testing of each instrument, carefully recorded the performance parameters, fault phenomena and potential risks of the instruments, and accurately located the root causes of the faults. For the gas chromatographs and liquid chromatographs with pre-column leakage, inaccurate flow rate and blocked injection system, the engineers adopted precise leak detection, pipeline cleaning and component calibration methods, replaced the damaged seals and injection pads, and debugged the pump flow rate to ensure that the analysis accuracy of the instruments was restored to the standard levelsuperscript:2>.
For the AB Sciex mass spectrometers with start-up failures, substandard vacuum degree, ion source pollution and decreased sensitivity, the team strictly followed the original-level maintenance standards, inspected the gas path pressure, replaced the aging pump oil, used professional ultrasonic cleaning technology to deeply decontaminate the core components such as ion source and capillary, repaired the circuit faults through chip-level inspection, and recalibrated the instrument parameters, successfully solving the pain points such as abnormal signals and low ion transmission efficiency. In the process of instrument refurbishment, the team adhered to the principle of "diagnosis is more important than part replacement", accurately located the fault points with profound technical accumulation, avoided blind replacement of parts, and greatly reduced the maintenance cost while ensuring the maintenance quality, saving more than 30% of the cost compared with the original factory maintenance.
In addition to the refurbishment of existing faulty instruments, the Lab Revive Services team also provided professional support for the construction of Enval Laboratory's mineral analysis laboratory. According to the laboratory's testing needs in the field of mineral analysis, the team provided professional suggestions on instrument selection, selected suitable high-end used instruments that had passed 72 professional tests, including ICP-OES and other mineral analysis equipment, which not only met the laboratory's testing needs but also helped the laboratory save a lot of equipment procurement costs, as the price of these instruments was only 30%-50% of that of new onessuperscript:3>.
After the completion of instrument refurbishment, the team carried out on-site installation and commissioning work. They strictly followed the original installation standards and technical requirements, accurately installed and debugged each instrument, and conducted continuous operation tests for 72 hours to ensure that the performance of the instruments was stable and reliable and the parameters met the testing requirements. For the newly added mineral analysis instruments, the team carried out systematic debugging and performance verification, and conducted joint tests with the technical personnel of Enval Laboratory to ensure that the instruments could be normally used in mineral analysis work. At the same time, the team also provided professional on-site technical training for the laboratory staff, detailed introducing the operation specifications, daily maintenance skills and emergency handling methods of common faults of the instruments, helping local staff improve their ability to operate and maintain the instruments, and achieving the dual goal of "instrument refurbishment + technical empowerment"superscript:2>.
The Enval Laboratory instrument project undertaken by Lab Revive Services lasted nearly three months. During the project, the team overcame many difficulties such as differences in local climate environment, inconvenient transportation and language barriers, and always adhered to the service concept of "professionalism, efficiency and reliability", ensuring the smooth completion of all project tasks. After the completion of the project, all refurbished instruments and newly installed equipment passed the strict detection and acceptance of Enval Laboratory and relevant institutions. The instruments operated stably, the detection data was accurate and reliable, and the original fault problems were completely solved, which effectively improved the detection efficiency of the laboratory and laid a solid foundation for the expansion of its business scope, especially the smooth launch of the mineral analysis laboratorysuperscript:2>.
